Ordered the Easter take out and it was perfect. We wanted something with plenty of veggies but still well seasoned, and this delivered. The roast was melt in your mouth delicious. The cauliflower was cheesy but not overly so. The brussel sprouts perfect w the feta. Only complaint was that the roasted veggies did not mention cheese in the description, but came with feta, which the person that ordered them hated. The apple pecan pie was perfect - crispy, not too sweet apple pieces and fresh pecans in an absolutely perfect crust. Great dinner all around.

Always a family fave! We love to dine in or take out, their family-style dishes are great for large groups! Ellie salad, cauliflower and salmon are always my go-to's.

Overall, the food was fine but the service seemed disorganized.
We had a reservation to sit outside and got seated at a table in the front of the building. Wasn't until later that we realized that we had the only chairs without seat pads.
Our server came by to take our order, and at the end to drop off the bill. In between, we ran it of water and I went in to ask for more. Multiple servers walked by and seemed to not notice that we needed anything. After asking at the front, I was told that our server was delayed because of a credit card issue?
The food was fine. Not large portions, not anything amazing. For the cost, it was just fine. I asked my wife what she thought and she had the same response. No reason to go back, especially with the way the service was.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

It was a Saturday around 11:00ish. Lots of reviews and lots with 3, 4, an 5 stars so was a little weirded out that there were only a few cars in the lot. We decided to go in anyway based on the reviews and thought maybe there was parking g elsewhere we couldn't see
Entered and the place was fairly empty. The woman covering the hostess stand asked if we had a reservation. We did not. Strange as there were about 4 tables with diners. I went back later and read through some reviews and others had mentioned this, too.
So, dining room was pretty empty and we were seated at a table in the middle of the room that was separated from another seated table by a pole. We were SO uncomfortable! I go to lots of places with community tables and I'm fine with that but when it's expected. This was not a community table and we were so close to the other table it was as if we were dining with them. I don't get this at all.
Server was nice, she made recommendations.
Food. I got the recommended Big Sky Benedict with potatoes. Potatoes were ok, kind of dry. The Benedict was perplexing. The salmon kind of melted on a biscuit and both were warm, the poached egg on top was ice cold. I was stumped but felt like the egg had to be cold on purpose. I didn't like it. The horseradish hollandaide was good but the cold eggs just put me off.
Just an overall strange experience.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1Business owner information

Hi Nancy,
Thank you so much for sharing your feedback! After almost 31 years in St. Louis, we know you have some really great options to choose from, and we are always thankful whenever someone visits us.
There are a couple of things you mentioned that I would like to address:
Your arrival was pretty close to our opening at 10:30, and what we have found is that our Brunch doesn't really start kicking in until closer to noon. Also, it is our policy to ask guests if they have a reservation when they arrive. Although not required, many of our guests make reservations to request specific tables or servers. Asking is just to be sure we don't miss anyone's request.
As for your issues with your table and the food, we are so sorry that you were not happy with them. We pride ourselves on our service and hospitality standards and we will do whatever we can in the moment to make the situation right when given the chance. Chef Dominic is going to address your feedback on the Big Sky Benedict immediately with the kitchen staff.
Again, we apologize that your experience was not an enjoyable one, but we appreciate your feedback.
Thanks so much,

I absolutely loved this place! The food was so delicious and fresh. Our waiter was funny and entertaining and gave great service. They change the menu because the food is fresh so depends on what's in season. Great atmosphere, food, service and you get what you pay for.

We were not impressed with cafe at all.
The decor was probably the best thing about it. Standing in the foyer for several minutes in this non busy restaurant when the owner walked out and grabbed some menus to seat us. I had brought my cup in so I could take water with me when I left, the owner raised his eyebrows at it, snidely commenting that they had drinks here for sale. I assured him that we would order drinks and why I had brought it with me.
The waitress was not friendly, shrugging her shoulders at me when I asked for a description of a menu item before begrudgingly providing a vague answer. The Bloody Mary was long on horseradish and a House mix but watery and disappointing. The menu listed it as 7.90 but we were charged 8.50. I ordered a Benedict sort of thing with what the waitress said was a spicy creole sauce with shrimp on a corn cake it came with potatoes which I asked to have cooked with onions. I was told they were always cooked with onions and peppers but when our plates came out, no onions or peppers in the potatoes, and mine had a longish hair in them. No apology, just removed my plate and assured me there when be another out soon. It came out within a few minutes and this time there was peppers and onions in the potatoes but I never did find any seafood in my sauce, which by the way was very bland and flavorless- not spicy as promised. The corn cake was completely blah also. About the only good thing I can say about it was the eggs were poached perfectly. The potatoes were also flavorless. It's like they never heard of salt. Needless to say, we won't go back.
The bill total was $40+ before tip for 2 breakfasts, a drink and coffee. The restaurant boasts of using as many local foods as possible. Which is why I gave them a second star instead of the one that I wanted to. This is an important issue for me but I felt like they took amazing ingredients and managed to make them taste commonplace. We were wishing that we had chosen the restaurant across the street. Super disappointing but maybe lunch or dinner would be better.
I edited this review to 1 star as I just learned from Known and Grown STL that they are not using local food sources after all. They had been on their list of Local purveyors but had to remove them as there is no evidence that they buy local.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 3Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Sam,
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. We are so sorry it was not a great one for you. We take great pride in our standards for both quality service and food, and we apologize that you did not feel like you received that.
Chef Dominic has reviewed your concerns with the kitchen about the NOLA Shrimp Hollandaise sauce, potatoes, and corn cake to be sure others do not have the same experience. And thank you for bringing the price difference to our attention so that we could correct it! However, I can assure you that our Bloody Mary is most definitely not made from a mix. But we get it, you can be Team Horseradish or Team Not!
As for bringing in your own cup, it was an unusual circumstance. I am sure you can understand how we may be wary of someone bringing in an empty cup into a restaurant. We want our guests to enjoy themselves with a cocktail, but we also have a responsibility to be sure it is done safely.
In regard to our mission, yes, we use local and seasonal ingredients as much as possible, and this has been our focus for many years. We provide the partner information on our website as well in-house on chalkboards and on menus. While we are sure Known & Grown is a great resource, they should not be considered the authority on all restaurants in the area. They have many farmers listed on their website (many that we have used over the years!) but also so many that are not listed. We're pretty lucky that Missouri and Illinois really have a great variety of farmers to choose from!
We're sorry that you will not be back again, but we do appreciate your visit and sharing your thoughts. I will send you my contact info in a private message in case you would like to discuss this in more depth. We always appreciate a learning opportunity!
Thank you so much,

Came in for brunch with some friends on a Saturday morning. We reserved a table and they set us up nicely for our group of 7 in a semi-secluded round table. Perfect spot! I started with a strawberry orange mimosa. It was heavy on the strawberry orange and light on the champs, so I ordered a glass of sparkling wine to help dilute the juice so it was less of a smoothie. I settled on the mushroom omelette. Again, just OK. I think others in the party were satisfied as well, but not blown away. The location is a bit hidden in the Old Orchard part of Webster. Our service was OK, but I felt she was a bit sassy. I'd come back to try dinner, but will probably pass on brunch again.

I am surprised I have not been here sooner! I really enjoyed brunch here and I cannot wait to return. My server was absolutely perfect - he was attentive, informative and timely - I was happy to hear about his menu suggestions and definitely took him up on it.
I started my meal with a fresh cup of coffee & Chilled Thyme Roasted Beet Soup. To say this soup was nothing short of amazing would be an understatement. I absolutely loved it and - while it is not on the menu currently - I would love to come in and learn how to make it (if they let me :)) it was perfection.
My main brunch item was a Cajun Shrimp Benedict on Arepas - first off, it is so hard to find arepas around town, secondly, the Cajun Shrimp sauce for the benedict was so flavorful without being overpowering. I loved the balance of the fresh tomatoes & spinach with the egg, sauce & arepas. 10/10 would return!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Christiane! Thank you so much for the great review of our brunch! The beet soup has been a long time favorite for so many of our customers. I believe if you do a quick search, the recipe has been posted by the local newspaper before (in case you want to take a stab at trying it at home). We're so glad you enjoyed your brunch, please come back again soon!

My parents and I always enjoy having dinner at Big Sky. The food and drinks are amazing. The service is always wonderful. Unfortunately, we had dinner reservations for Saturday evening. The restaurant was packed which was expected. Our server was triple seated and overwhelmed. Now as a former hostess I felt completely bad for the server. Also we were seated next to a loud group of guests. So my parents and I had a hard time making conversations with each other.
